About

On March 20, 1996, more than 50 overseas Chinese attendees of the 37th Experimental Nuclear Resonance Conference (ENC, Asilomar, California) held a meeting and agreed to found the Oversea Chinese Magnetic Resonance Association (OCMRA) as an on-line community with the following goals:

  • To improve members’ communication and friendship.
  • To exchange research information and experiences in the magnetic resonance field.
  • To promote the members’ academic level in the magnetic resonance areas.
  • To enhance the academic exchanges between China and other countries.

Organization

OCMRA is organized by the OCMRA Council, the members of which are elected by OCMRA’s Annual Conference. The Annual Conference are usually held at the same place and the same time as the ENC (usually at the hospitality room of Dr Jinshan Wang in the evening of Wednesday). The program of the conference includes council member election, reporting the council’s administration and activities, etc.

The current OCMRA Council was elected in the 50th ENC (March 2009) and Dr. Jun Hu joined us in 51th ENC in 2010 (Welcome, Jun!):

Membership and Sponsorship

The membership of OCMRA is open to anyone who is an overseas Chinese undertaking magnetic resonance research or application. No membership fee is required at present, although donations are encouraged to cover the administration costs. Company sponsorship is welcome and a logo of and a link to such a sponsor will be provided on OCMRA’s website. The members are encouraged to click and browse their web pages.

Activities

OCMRA Newsletter The OCMRA Newsletter is currently a quarterly electronic publication. It reports news from the NMR research communities in China and the US, local and national conferences, research activities of the members, and social events organized by the OCMRA committee. The OCMRA Newsletter is distributed to the members through email and posted on our website for the public.
